| Virtually all of the
conterminous United States and Hawaii are covered by 30 x 60 minute quadrangle maps at a
scale of 1:100,000. Most of these maps are derived from 1:24,000-scale maps, but they show
distances and contour intervals in maters. Contours are at intervals of 5, 10, 20, or 50
meters, depending on terrain relief. Some 1:100,000-scale quadrangle maps are published in planimetric editions, without contours. Bureau of Land Management editions showing Surface Management Status and Surface Minerals Management Status are also available, primarily in the western States. |
